I built this because getting YouTube transcripts into code and AI tools was harder than it should be: the official API does not return captions for videos you do not own. Try the MCP server in Claude or Cursor and ask it to summarise a video. Feedback on the API welcome.

Paste a link for a free transcript with no sign-up, or use the REST API for transcripts with video metadata, YouTube search, playlist videos and channel ID lookups, no Google API key needed. It also runs as a remote MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can read YouTube directly, plus an n8n node and a Chrome extension. Free plan: 100 credits, no card.
