About

icebreakr is a cold outreach tool built for students and new graduates running personalized email campaigns to land internships and full-time roles. It guides you through a complete workflow: define your target audience, pull a curated contact list, generate opening lines grounded in your resume and each company's context, and send directly from your own inbox. Unlike sales automation platforms designed to populate a CRM, icebreakr is free and built around the student-to-opportunity workflow, with personalization anchored in your actual background rather than generic phrasing. Every message sends from your authenticated Microsoft or Google inbox, preserving deliverability and authenticity instead of routing through shared infrastructure that gets flagged as spam. You review and approve every email before it sends. Nothing goes out without your sign-off.

In my first year of university, I spent over 30 hours writing cover letters, tailoring my resume, and cold emailing anyone I or my parents knew. 250+ applications. 1 offer. As I got further into school and started meeting more people, I noticed something: almost every internship I landed came through a connection, not a job board. A referral, a cold email to the right person, a conversation that started because I reached out first. The applications I sent into the void rarely went anywhere. The summer before my fourth year, I decided to automate the whole process. I sent 900+ personalized emails to companies across North America in a single afternoon and got an 11% reply rate and more interviews than I could actually handle. That's when I realized this shouldn't be something only I had access to. Finding that first internship with no experience and no network is genuinely hard, and most of the advice out there doesn't account for that. icebreakr is my attempt to give every student the same edge I had to figure out the hard way.
